With the arrival of tourism year Visit Nepal Year 2020, there is a unique vibe in the air that is definitely encouraging not only tourists, but all of us local citizens to visit the undiscovered areas of our beautiful country and experience the adventures that it offers. As the quote from the movie Up says “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” Fr!day brings you a list of fun adventures to challenge yourself with this year

Tandem Swing

Tandem swing is one of the adventure sports that is offered at The Last Resort, located on a high cliff-top gorge above the wild Bhote Koshi River. Tandem swings are quite similar to bungee jumping, but the unique thing about it is that it is designed for two people to take the plunge together and not just one. The Last Resort offers this adventure that is over 160m high and encourages people to try this as a great way to strengthen bonds between loved ones. They offer a transportation service for clients who wants to try these challenges; they pick you up from their office at Thamel in the morning and then drop you back to the same place after a fun-filled day of adventure. The maximum weight for the tandem swing is 140 kg, and if it doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, The Last Resort also provides other adventurous sports such as bungy jumping, canyon swings, hidden canyons, water rafting and more.

Horse Riding

Gokarna Forest Resort, located at Kageswari Manahara, has been providing horse riding services for more than a decade. They currently have eight horses of various breeds including Marwari, polo ponies and thoroughbreds in their stable. Here, you can either go horse riding around the resort for 45 minutes or you can also get special horse riding packages for longer time frames; some of these are the Changunarayan tour, Thali village tour, Shivapuri Wildlife Reserve tour and Chisapani tour. A minimum of seven days prior reservation is required to book these special horseback packages. A lot easier but equally fun, horse riding in the peaceful and pristine environment of Gokarna Forest Resort is a must-try sport to kickstart this year.
