When it comes to celebration, music is an integral part. Good music for the Nepali New Year should make you feel aroused and give you the goose-bumps after the bands start playing. Be it rock and roll or folk music, we all move our feet when we listen to our favorite numbers. And having a good time at the beginning of the year will give you that confidence to face those up and downs through the year. So, why not to go for some good music with drinks, food, and fun activities on New Year’s day? Here are some of the best-loved Nepali bands ready to rock your New Year celebrations.

Sabin Rai & Pharaoh Live

Sabin Rai has been serenading his beautiful songs to Nepali music lovers for over a decade. He has won numerous musical awards, including New Artist of the Year 2004 (Channel Nepal) and Best Song of the Year 2004 (Hits FM), among others. The band members consist of Binod Lama Tamang (drums), Nitesh Katwal (guitar), John Shrestha (guitar), and Jeevan Lama (bass).

Sisha Terrace Café and Bar, Thamel

April 14, 8 p.m. onwards

HD is a Kathmandu-based cover band formed by guitarist Hari S. Kunwar. This band is

comprised of four members, Shaina Manandhar on vocals, Hari Kunwar on guitar, Rahul Regmi

on bass, and Deependra Kafle on drums. For a few months, Shaina had to go abroad for some

reason, so Ashish Gurung from Connection band has joined HD now.

April 14, 2 p.m. onwards

Love acoustic music? Enjoy this New Year with 99 Stitches at the Ghodchadhi event presented by Grand Royal Events. Apart from a melodious performance by the three-member band, other fun activities such as horse riding, baggi riding, and lots of fun games will be organized, followed by DJ session with DJ Insane and DJ Satan.
