Kathmandu, 2 January
Conflux, a music and dance project targeting people of all ages was successfully held in the Rashtriya Sabha Griha. The event that kicked off at 7:00 pm featured Resonance and Cartoons Crew as guest artists. The event was coordinated by Mark Hollard, an American musician, and Marie Forbes from England. Speaking on the experience gained, Hollard said, “Working with the Nepali artists and musicians was a new experience for me. Even though there was jazz involved in the music they played, the Nepali folk tunes really fascinated me.”
The highlight of the show was a dance performance by over 40 dancers swaying to the beats of the live music played by the KJC faculty and Hollard. “Four days was all we had to get the acts together and I should say, I am very impressed with the hard work everyone put in to make this a success.” said Forbes, delighted with the show the artists put up.
Conflux was organized by Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory and was funded and supported by the British Council.
