Marking the start of the festive month of December, Fair Trade Group Nepal organized their annual Christmas art and craft fair at the pool side garden in Hotel Annapurna. The fair was jointly inaugurated by Robert Piper—UNDP and Humanitarian Coordinator for Nepal, and his wife, Maggie Piper.

Talking about the motive of the fare, Ghanshyam Shrestha, the executive director of Fair Trade Group Nepal said, “This is an opportunity for foreigners, expatriates and people of the Christian community to buy gifts and accessories for Christmas. They all can also meet and exchange prior holiday greetings in this fair. Most of our products are manufactured by people coming from the marginalized and under privileged groups. This fair also gives an opportunity for them to expose and promote their art.”

The fare that officially kicked off at 10:00 am was made merrier with holiday tunes in the backdrop. A total of 22 stalls in the fare featured Nepali handicraft, live art work, household textiles, interior decorative items, clothes, bags and fashion accessories.
