Himal Tea Industries Pvt. Ltd. launched its Rakura brand of Heavenly Classic teas at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Durbar Marg in Kathmandu on Thursday. “We hope to make tea from Nepal known domestically and internationally by introducing one of the finest tea drinking experiences around the world,” said Ram Kumar Rathi, founder and chairman of the company.
The guest-of-honour Damodar Prasad Gautam, past director of Tea Development Corporation had this to say about Rakura’s tea, “Tea is a Nepali drink, and the benefits of drinking tea unadulterated are many.” Rajendra Dhakal, past DGM of the same corporation was also present.
The double-chambered tea bags are available in three flavours—Green, Black and CTC and will be launched in 10, 25 and 100 tea bag packs from 37 selected stores at major locations in Kathmandu from 21 December, Friday. Retail prices range from Rs.55 to Rs.190, depending on the variant and volume of the tea.
“Our teas are packed with innovation and are biodegradable. Putting them in your potted plants after use will not only nurture your plants but will also assist in minimizing your waste,” said Neeraj Rathi, managing director of Himal Tea Industries. Expansion plans across the capital are underway.
