As an effort to support the fire victims of Saptari, many contributed to the charity event organized at Basantapur and Patan Durbar Square last week.
People present at Basantapur on 13 March (Wednesday) participated in a relief collection for the victims of the fire that spread in Saptari on 9 March. With the theme “Together We Can”, Subekshya Khadka (Miss Nepal International) Shristi Shrestha (Miss Nepal World 2012) and Nagma Shrestha (Miss Nepal Earth 2012) were seen collecting aids from those passing by from 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm. From children to adults, many foreigners as well as Nepalis contributed to the charity.
“We were also supported by the CEO of Mega Bank—Anil Keshari Shah, designer Subexya Bhadel, actor Nikun Shrestha and photographers Supreme Dhital and Anjil Maskey, and many others including our own family members. Vidya Bikas Boarding High School provided us with a microphone for the event. We are really grateful to all of them,” shared Khadka.
Encouraged by the participation of many people, they organized another relief collection program for the same purpose at Patan Durbar Square on 16 March (Saturday) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
An amount of Rs. 64,440 has been collected which will be utilized in providing relief materials by Help Nepal Network to support the victims.
