Devoted & Radical for Environment & Animal Movement Society (DREAMS)
organized a charity art competition at the open premises of Bal Mandir on the
occasion of International Children's Day.
The nonprofit organization hosted the art competition for over 400 articipants from different schools across the valley. The event featured two ategories that classified students from grades 1 to 6 as juniors, and those above as seniors. The event also presented a platform for art beyond drawing and painting with other forms of art such as clay work, collage, and sculpture included in the competition.
"This event is entirely a work of charity. The participation fee of Rs. 200 that we
collected from each participant and the money we will collect from the auction of
these works of art will go toward fencing a plot in Matatirtha," said Chandani Lama,
one of the organizers. The competition themed on nature awareness also featured face painting, nail art, game stalls, and food stalls. Likewise, the organizers put up a concert after a program with Abhaya Subba and Nattu Shah performing live. The results of the competition will be announced on 21 November, which will then be followed by the charity auction.
