Kathmandu Beer, a product of Himalayan Brewery, successfully organized the second Corporate 5 a-side Football Tournament, bringing together the corporate fraternity. The inauguration and the opening games were held on Saturday, 5 May. The games kicked off with penalty shoot-outs by the chief guests-Vinod Gyawali (Managing Director of Nagarik), Sabin Bhakta Joshi (Director of Himalaya Brewery) and Ravi KC (Vice-President of Surya Nepal)-against Nepali football team captain Upendra Man Singh. Participants included organizations from the banking sector, publication houses and other industries-Citizen Bank, Sunrise Bank, Republica, Himalayan Bank, TTV, Direction Nepal, United Spirits, Munz Ad, Himalayan Brewery, Zenith Travels, Janta Bank, Surya Nepal, Turbo Motors, Civil Bank, H&B Development Bank and Nepal Investment Bank. The sixteen participants were divided into four groups for the group stages, and the qualifying teams battled it out for the prize the next day. The tournament concluded with Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. winning the tournament by beating Janata Bank-seven goals to nil in the final, and Surya Nepal securing third place by defeating DECC-two goals to nil.
