Radio Kantipur Turns 13
Celebrating their 13th anniversary with a bash, Radio Kantipur honored artists and organizations that have contributed to the promotion of Nepali music scene. Not only did the event celebrate the longevity of Radio Kantipur, but it was also announced that the radio is going to provide its services in the Gulf as well. The event awarded Alok Shree as the best lyricist, Nima Rumba as the best pop male vocalist, Indira Joshi as the best pop female vocalist, and Rajesh Payal Rai as the best Adhunik male vocalist, while Basant Chaudhary's Only Love won the album of the year accolade. Talking about the soon to be broadcast radio in the Gulf, chairman and managing director of Kantipur Media Group, Kailash Sirohiya commented, "One can directly access our programs through the mobile telephone network."
